Waddon Way TVIA

M+A were commissioned by Bellway to carry out this TVIA for the proposed Waddon Way development adjacent to Purley Way playing fields in Croydon. Although undesignated, the area surrounding this brownfield development is built-up, being suburban residential in nature.

With the residential masterplan centred around the remnants of an Art Deco lido diving platform, the massing for the Waddon Way development needed to be proportionate in creating an acceptable new setting for this extraordinary heritage feature. Consequently, our TVIA work was informed by this unusual constraint, making it a very interesting commission!
