Completing ten years of award-winning consultancy for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability, M+A were commissioned for over £1 million worth of high-profile frontage design for the world-renowned charity striving to improve its public appearance. As a Grade II* listed building and gateway to the London Borough of Wandsworth, the Royal Hospital has been a major south London landmark since the mid-19th century.

As lead designers, our masterplan sought to place the stunning building in a contemporary setting, opening up views to give the hospital a greater prominence within the community. The hospitals new frontage 400m long included stunning new walling and railings with detailing that was true to historical authenticity. A sweeping arrangement of landscape around the car parking and soft informal spaces compliment the listed building. The scheme had a complex construction contract due in part to the necessity to keep the national medical charity open 24/7.
