As part of the Lewisham £300m Building Schools for the Future programme, Costain and Babtie Group led the JV consortia with Lewisham Council for the phased redevelopment of 10 secondary schools in the borough. M+A were part of the successful consortia designing and building extraordinary new secondary schools for Lewisham, many of which became academies with education specialisms.

At Deptford Green School where external space is at such a premium, the landscape worked hard to be inspiring, flexible and multi-functional, encouraging its many different types of users to feel welcomed and supported in their individual educational needs. The resulting landscape design was shaped by the need to facilitate a resource for teachers and trainers to deliver the formal and informal curriculum outdoors.
