Led by Bouygues in Paris, the international competition to design, build and manage Deloitte’s newest EMEA Region ‘university’ was hard-fought. We were commissioned alongside a fully French consultant team including renowned Parisian architects Michel Rémon et Associés to create an outstanding training campus to facilitate Deloitte university’s new education programme.
The new facility provided a multi-cultural, innovative learning environment for 500 delegates in the Val d’Europe just east of Paris. The concept was based on Deloitte University’s ethos of continuous learning and self-improvement, using circular geometries that represent movement, orbiting and reflection.
M+A led the landscape masterplanning including two main plazas within the central hub of the university, a partially covered piazza and a reflective learning garden, accommodation courtyards, planted with specimen plants from the three different EMEA regions, external learning arenas, learning sub-nodes, and the main arrival spaces. Other landscape elements included an educative orchard, a growing kitchen, sports pitches and various ecological habitats - meadows, woodland, lake, rain water gardens and swales with trails weaving through the different habitats.
