On the site of the former 1866 Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish Company, Berkeley Homes with JTP Architects created an exclusive residential development destined for sale to the Middle-East and Far-East market. This prominent site is next to the listed house and gardens of Chiswick House in the Chiswick House Conservation Area and the Borough of Hounslow.
The proposals were scripted as a quintessentially English design, and the detailing was intended to be attractive to overseas investors wishing to buy into the London property market and seeking a British style investment. The architectural, interiors and landscape detailing amplified strong English design principles for a market-ready scheme.
One of the unique selling points were the communal gardens designed as an invitation for residents to explore as well as walled gardens which provide a sanctuary for the senses and continue the beautiful journey from Chiswick House. The landscape within the walled gardens is separated into a formal central courtyard with water features and a new Cherry orchard referencing the historic Cherry Blossom Company.
