Chapel Place, Ilford

Chapel Place will be Ilford’s newest urban quarter and one of Redbridge’s largest regeneration schemes to date. A joint venture of Telford Homes and Sainsburys, M+A and HTA Design developed the masterplanning of this public realm-led scheme to application submission. Bringing 1200 homes and almost 7,000m2 of meaningful public realm into Ilford’s new green heart, Chapel Place will be a highly sustainable development only a short walk away from the Elizabeth Line station.

In recognition of LB Redbridge’s status as a UNICEF Child Friendly Borough, all play quotas were met on site and healthy active living was fostered through high-quality, inclusive playspaces. Our final design for truly meaningful public realm was inspired by Alfred Harman’s legacy for innovative photographic technologies of Ilford Ltd. which changed the photography industry at that time.
