Digbeth is rapidly evolving into one of Birmingham’s most vibrant and dynamic districts, with immense potential for growth and set to become a global hub for start-ups, high-tech innovation, as well as for TV and film industries. The BBC’s investment and the ambitious Smithfield Masterplan signals strong support for this vision.

The Phoenix Yard plans formerly the Digbeth Masterplan, aim to transform a former industrial site into a mixed-use development. supporting Digbeth’s growing creative and entrepreneurial community. The £100m project will offer workspaces, homes, retail, media and education facilities, and improved public realm, enhancing this thriving creative quarter. These plans are crafted with particular attention to the site’s industrial heritage as an ironworks. Drawing inspiration from the local streetscape, we used historic building footprints to create spaces for creative industries, ensuring the proposal is flood-resilient and accessible to all.

The first glimpses have been revealed through its new website, showing its contribution to this evolving part of England’s second city – Birmingham.
