HOWBERY PARK

Nestled in the verdant Oxfordshire countryside, adjacent to the River Thames, is the world’s leading centre for water research, Howbery Park, a truly unique business setting. The beautiful landscaped grounds surrounding The Manor House which dates back to 1850, are home to exceptional scientific research encompassing all aspects of water technology.

M+A were commissioned with Scott Brownrigg Architects to create a world-leading centre of excellence for research and innovation in water and environmental technology within Howbery Park. A wide range of businesses are attracted to collaborate and be a value-generating, real estate investment for HR Wallingford and the wider South Oxfordshire region.

Our landscape vision is to create a truly unique parkland setting, which will be an exemplar for natural water management. M+A aim to create a series of landscape swales which will not only provide biodiverse habitats but also increase water storage capacity on the park, alleviate flood conditions and a create containment and management in times of drought or floods. This will combine with the tree management and preservation, health and wellness infrastructure, and sculpted landscaped spaces that will live at the heart of the new masterplan.
