ALL SIGNS POINT EAST
After a thorough process of community and stakeholder consultation, a planning application for the Eastpoint Business Park re-development has now been submitted by Railpen. The redevelopment will turn the existing business park into a hub of innovation, featuring three state-of-the-art buildings, a community pavilion, and an ecologically-focused landscape.
In collaboration with Scott Brownrigg Architects, the landscape design emphasizes green infrastructure to support both environmental and human health. The project, anchored in sustainability and well-being, aims to achieve top-tier certifications, including BREEAM ‘Outstanding,’ Wired, WELL and Smart Platinum, and Cycle Score Platinum. The site will feature spaces for outdoor collaboration, social engagement, and sustainable transport options. In addition to a “Learning Lab,” outdoor learning classrooms will provide youth with opportunities in STEM, while ecological trails will allow exploration of Oxford’s diverse plant communities.
The design offers a range of social and sensory experiences and is inspired by neurodiversity concepts. A lively, sustainable environment that benefits building occupants as well as the surrounding community will be created by extensive rain gardens and tree planting, which will also improve water management and biodiversity.
