A highlight last month was co-leading a workshop alongside Barratt London, TTL Properties Ltd (TfL’s wholly owned property company), and Tate Hindle Architects to co-design with a group of students at the Ark Academy in Wembley Park. The objective: inspiring the students to shape two play spaces within the nearby Wembley Park Gardens residential development.

Born out of TfL’s Sustainable Development Framework, this social impact-driven approach is designed to ensure students from diverse backgrounds, in particular teen girls, have a chance to shape publicly accessible play spaces.

The play co-design session brought forward some really impressive ideas and designs. Following this initial session on the architectural proposals, the next in the series will see us present a landscape design that considers and reflects the students’ insights.
