Spanning across two boroughs, the Royal Borough of Greenwich and London Borough of Lewisham, an exciting new planning application has just been submitted for a transformative development at Deptford Bridge. Spearheaded by RER London and CZWG architects, the development will create over 900 much needed new homes across eight distinctive buildings. The plans also include over 8,700m2 of non-residential floorspace with flexible commercial units, community use facilities and F&B.

M+A’s development of the public realm and landscape design will see the unlocking of over 600m of riverside public space facing Deptford Creek with over 50% of the total site becoming publicly accessible. The bold public realm proposals emphasise Deptford’s rich heritage and prioritise the creation of new green space while adding 239 new trees, rain gardens, wildflowers, green roofs, residential podium gardens, and over 1,000sq. m. of new planting.

In collaboration with CZWG, the public realm offers a new square in front of the 19th-century Mumford Mill building – a Grade II-listed former silo, in addition to outdoor recreation spaces, alfresco dining, play areas, and residential gardens. The development will integrate a variety of green infrastructure features, enhancing sustainability and boosting ecological diversity, while also improving connections to the scenic Waterlink Way.
