BELLS A’ RINGING

The transformation of a former SGN gas holder site in Lower Sydenham is underway with a recently submitted planning application for a mixed-use development. Working with dMFK, plans for 261 new dwellings, 900sqm of retail space and public realm have carefully considered nearby developments proposals.

The first plot of many to come forward within the wider area, proposals for Bell Green are setting a high benchmark in terms of design quality. To ensure that proposals stitch into their context, M+A worked collaboratively with Churchman Thornhill Finch to coordinate the public realm and landscape design with adjacent sites.

Remaining sensitive to the adjacent Grade-II listed Livesey Memorial Hall, the sites industrial heritage has been reimagined through materiality, play and public art.
