A LANDMARK MOMENT FOR NORWICH
A major success for Whitbread as planning permission has finally been granted for the regeneration of their Nelson riverside site in Norwich, a major step towards a sustainable, well-connected new quarter for the city.
The mixed-use scheme will deliver 491 purpose-built student rooms across two buildings, a 248-room hotel and more than 12,000m² of public realm, including a new park, a reopened riverside walkway and a welcoming plaza designed to bring people together. We have been leading the public realm and landscape strategy, working with Whitbread, Sheppard Robson and the wider project team.
Our landscape-led approach will transform this underused riverside site into a place that connects people, place and nature. More than a development, this is a chance to reconnect Norwich with its river and leave a lasting legacy for the community.
