ELSTREE REACHES A MAJOR MILESTONE

The Fairbanks Studios planning application has been unanimously approved by Hertsmere Borough Council. This marks an incredible milestone for the project and an exciting new chapter for the site.

Led by AXA Investment Managers in partnership with Oxygen Studios, the redevelopment will transform the iconic 16-acre site into a world-class production campus. Once home to Hollywood legend Douglas Fairbanks Jr., the site will be reimagined with advanced sound stages, workshops, post-production facilities, and vibrant green spaces, blending innovation with its rich cinematic history.

The plans create a central plaza, gardens, woodlands, and ornamental planting to improve biodiversity and spark creativity. Councillors praised the quality of design, collaboration, and celebration of Elstree’s heritage. The project brings investment, jobs, and recognition to the area.
