ROM VALLEY GARDENS, ROMFORD
Planning permission is secured for £350 million residential-led urban village Rom Valley Gardens in Romford!
Rom Valley Gardens proposes to develop a former 2-acre ice rink site near Queen’s Hospital and the new Elizabeth Line cross rail station in Romford. Havering Council’s Strategic Planning committee approved the development consisting of a hybrid application scheme consisting of 972 dwellings, including 232 intergenerational living units, 14,000 sq. ft. of retail, and NHS diagnostic clinical hub.
Working alongside Impact Capital Group and Ethos Architects, M+A were commissioned to develop significant and high quality green urban gardens for Impact’s flagship scheme. The gardens are themed around mental, physical, and social health, given its proximity to Queens Hospital. In addition, the scheme contributes significant green infrastructure for a major development, proposing an urban green factor score of 0.45 and biodiversity net gain of almost 20%.
Impact Capital will deliver the scheme using its own off-site manufacturing modular (OSM) facility. Using modular OSM will reduce the environmental impact of construction when compared to conventional methods.
