NORTHERN ARC – NORTHERN LIGHTS

A great milestone has been reached with the submission of detailed planning for the first phase of the Homes England’s flagship Northern Arc development. The 3,500- dwelling initiative in Burgess Hill steps up a gear with Bellway Homes – to bring forward the first 250 homes alongside surrounding green infrastructure designed by Macfarlane + Assocs.

The masterplan vision for this development blends the best of town and country living through the provision of vibrant, mixed-use centres and well-designed neighbourhoods set amongst existing, mature woodlands. The masterplan sits alongside an infrastructure delivery plan and phasing strategy for the 15-year development.
With approximately 1000 affordable homes, the Northern Arc scheme holds sustainable principles at its core by integrating 3 new schools, 3 mixed-use neighbourhood centres, other community facilities and green spaces as well as supporting active travel infrastructure into the development.

As the freehold owner, Homes England is overseeing the development of the strategic site providing reassurance to local residents that it will be completed to schedule and on budget. Macfarlane and Associates are tasked with making distinctive and attractive public realm which will improve residents’ quality of life.
