UNIFYING SPACES: HENDON WATERSIDE

Appointed by Barratt London to develop the Unification Strategy for Hendon Waterside – a development nestled amidst 170 hectares of green space and alongside the tranquil Welsh Harp Reservoir. This site offers a unique blend of nature and modern living allowing residents to enjoy the peaceful, waterside setting, complemented by convenient on-site amenities. For commuters, the location is ideally connected, with Brent Cross West just 6 minutes away and St Pancras reachable in 18 minutes from nearby Hendon Central station.

With several years of development already completed to date, our role is to review and enhance the public realm, creating a cohesive strategy that to better integrate the various phases within the wider masterplan. Our work will shape the final phases of the development within Phases 5 and 6, setting a high-quality benchmark that will be retroactively adopted across the entire site.

This will encompass a seamless material palette, carefully curated site furnishings, and refined landscape finishes, all designed to enhance the public realm with a significant consideration given to enhancing the environment. A commitment to boosting biodiversity and green infrastructure will be complemented by a significant increase in canopy cover. Play spaces will be reimagined, both in quantity and quality, offering vibrant areas for all to enjoy. Meanwhile, a carefully crafted lighting strategy will ensure a well-lit, safe, and welcoming neighbourhood for residents and visitors alike.
