UNICEF AMBASSADORS CO-DESIGN

Featured as part of the summer edition of the Landscape Institute’s publication Landscape – of which the theme is #HospitableLandscapes – our article showcases our inclusive design approach at Chapel Place – the newest urban quarter in Ilford and one of Redbridge’s largest regeneration schemes to date.

You can also listen to the Landscape Institute podcast #TalkingLandscape podcast with practice Directors Glen Macfarlane and Pierre Chin-Dickey on Spotify, discussing #equality, #diversity, #inclusion and designing in the needs of people with #neurodiverse conditions! This podcast explores the big issues in #placemaking, #nature and the #environment through conversations with leading industry professionals.

To be built on the site of the former Ilford Ltd. photographic factory, Chapel Place reimagines a heritage-inspired public realm. As Redbridge was the first UK borough to be recognised as UNICEF child-friendly, the public realm strategy was specifically designed for young people.
